Each of the girls in this wildly popular New York trio is a tremendous performer in her own right, but together, they are absolute dynamite! Red Molly is currently one of the most popular acoustic groups on the circuit in the US. They will also present a songwriting workshop on Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Ski Denton. Opening will be Cornpone Sally http://www.myspace.com/cornponesally , a great local acoustic group from Mansfield that absolutely knocked us out at last year’s open stage. | Sat, Jul 12th | Songwriter's Roundtable Dinner and Concert Saturday, July 12th, The Songwriter’s Roundtable at Ski Denton, food and doors at 6:00pm and show from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, featuring a four way songwriting and performing powerhouse from the Philadelphia Folksong Society! Steve Perlsweig http://www.electricmansteve.com Michael London http://www.michaellondon.net , Sherry Somach http://www.myspace.com/sherrysomach , and Ted Jordan are some of the finest writer /performer mainstays of the Philadelphia folk community, giving us a glimpse into one of the truly pioneering folk organizations in the country. They will also conduct a Songwriting workshop on Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Ski Denton. Opening will be local favorite Josh Wolf, who gave us a fine preview of what to expect at our last open stage. Our special Roundtable guest openers will be Miranda Sickler, and also Hilary Gordnier with Cassey Stuckey, all very talented young local performers. | Sat, Aug 09th | Songwriter's Roundtable Dinner and Concert Saturday, August 9th, The Songwriter’s Roundtable at Ski Denton, food at 6:00pm and show from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, featuring three celebrated and award winning songwriting artists! Nashville songbird Colleen McFarland http://www.colleenmcfarland.com has just signed a contract with Universal Studios to write for film and Television, and is fresh off a European tour and about to release a new CD recorded with co-writer Peter Nova and co-producer/engineer Jon Anders in Norway. From the Long Island Sound area, Huntington Folk Club member and veteran songwriter James O’Malley http://www.jamesomalley.com has shared stages with top songwriters around the country, and has recorded on the ABC/Dunhill label with the acoustic band “The Braid”. His songs have been published and recorded by various artists. By special request of the Roundtable audience, this show will also feature Pennsylvania’s own Van Wagner http://www.vanwagnermusic.com , a tremendous performer and songwriter who has lived the life of many of the characters that people his songs, which are steeped in the lumbering and mining history of the region. These songwriters will also present a songwriting workshop on Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Ski Denton. Opening by request of the Roundtable audience will be Mike Fetchko of Galeton, who regaled us with some fine songs at the open stage last year. Our special Roundtable guest opener will be Josie Wunderlich, another great young talent from the Genesee area. Canada’s golden voiced Eve Goldberg http://www.evegoldberg.com writes absolutely beautiful songs. An acclaimed performer, she is a proven festival and folk club favorite in Canada and the US. London born New York Singer/songwriter/poet Terence Martin http://www.martinsongs.com writes atmospheric, mesmerizing songs. His songs have won numerous awards throughout the US, and his poetry has been included in the anthology “Four Valley Poets”. Maine’s Jud Caswell http://www.judcaswell.com is a multi-instrumentalist, multi-award winning songwriter. His song “Blackberry Time” is being taught in the songwriting curriculum at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. These songwriters will also conduct a songwriting workshop on Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Ski Denton. Opening will be Jim Colbert http://www.myspace.com/jimcolbertmusic , a fine songwriter from just south of us in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, who is just about to release his debut CD. Our special Roundtable guest openers will be Gabe “Midnight Ghost” Trimbur and Nathan “Bob Dylan” Stilson.
